	descrizione:	Gioco di 63 caselle numerate disposte su un'oca. Sono rispettate le regole classiche del gioco dell'oca ad esclusione della casella 53 senza dadi. Ci sono invece due caselle in più con i dadi: la 9 e la 11. L'autore del gioco E. Wallis è indicato nell'uovo in basso a destra. REGOLE: in alto al centro. CASELLE: mute, alcune figurate. NOTA: nella Collezione Ciompi esemplare senza scritta dell'autore sulle uova (in basso a destra) e senza indicazione dello stampatore in basso a sinistra (fac-simile?). This is a classic Goose game whose distinguishing characteristic is that the track is laid within the outline figure of a goose. The first English game of this kind was probably that published by Richard Holmes Laurie (active between 1813 and 1859 at 53 Fleet Street, London) as Laurie’s New and Entertaining Game of the GoldenGoose, dated on the sheet as November 22, 1831. Several such games were produced by unidentified publishers, some with variant rules and iconography. A pleasant feature is that the publisher’s name appears in delicate cursive script on one of the eggs in the lower right corner. Edward Wallis (1787?–1868) inherited the firm founded in 1775 by his father, John Wallis (1745?–1818), and the Wallis family was one of the major producers of printed games in the first half of the nineteenth century.
