Gioco di 100 caselle numerate. REGOLE: non riportate sul tavoliere. CASELLE: mute. REFERENZA 1 (Love Brian, pag. 18): "Cat and Mice Game. This is an updated version produced in 1930, of a game that first appeared in the J.W. Spear catalogue for 1910/11. It was designed at the Spear works in England, printed at their other factory in Bavaria and then imported and packaged in the United Kingdom for the toy market. Games featuring cats were extremely popular and could be found in most game manufacturers' catalogues around the turn of the century. The McLoughlin Brothers of New York, for instance, published in 1882/3 a folding board incorporating three games, one of which was Cats and Mice. 1)The object of the game is to be the first to reach N°100. 2)This is a game for 4 players. There are three Mice and one Cat. The throw of a die determines which player shall represent which animal, the highest score becoming the Cat. 3)The Mouse who threw highest starts the game. Each player in turn throws a die and advances his piece according to the number thrown. 4)When a player lands on certain numbers he must follow the directions given below: N°3 Mouse slips into a mousehole and advances to 6 N°10 Mouse jumps into the cellar. Cat and that Mouse miss on turn. N°17 Cat squeezed in the door, misses one turn. N°19 Cat jumps to 23, the Mouse to 25. N°28 Cat loses trace of the Mouse and misses one turn. Mouse, however, has another throw. N°31 Dog in the way, back to 29. N°35 Cat has fallen into the water and misses one turn. Mouse advances to 36. N°45 Cat jumps to 46. N°47 Mouse misses one turn. Cat climbs to 50. N°53 Mouse slips into a mousehole and advances to 57. N°58 Mouse gets a hold of the Roast and misses one turn. N°61 Cat upsets the milkjug and has to return to 59. N°65 Mouse is caught in the trap and goes out of the game. N°69 Cat loses trace of the Mouse and misses one turn. N°72 Mouse jumps to 80. N°81 Cat misses one turn. N°87 Mouse jumps to 94. N°95 Mouse smells the bacon and misses one turn. N°98 Mouse is caught and goes out of the game. 5) If the cat and the Mouse meet together on the same white number the Mouse must go back to the next white number not occupied by the Cat. |
