A coloured lithograph size 16 ¾ in X 22 in, mounted in 9 sections on linen, folded into hinged boards, cloth-covered with title in gilt. Rules inside front cover. The game is a race from King Alfourite’s Proclamation through 14 episodes, ending at the Palace Gardens.

HOW TO PLAY THE GAME: This game is based on a popular play, Fortunio and His Seven Gifted Servants: A Fairy Extravaganza, in Two Acts, by J. R. Planché, first produced at Drury Lane Theatre, London, in 1843. Players are led through the narrative of the drama, earning rewards or paying forfeits, until the winner reaches the center image, The Court of the Emperor Matapa. The accompanying folded sheet provides the rules as well as a synopsis of the play.
