Realizzato da Robert Mittelbach noto topografo e cartografo tedesco proprietario e direttore dell'Istituto Arti Grafiche "Globus" Dresden-Kötzschenbroda. Il gioco porta in basso al centro il brevetto: "842329 - D. R. G. M. - Wortschutz". Alla sua morte gli successe il figlio Curt Mittelbach come direttore delle mappe.

"The Globetrotter. General explanations.
The Globetrotter offers a merry and amusing game both for old and young. The game represents travels over the whole world. The routes lead to all important towns in the world and all zones. The largest mountains and rivers are visited, so that the game is at the same time instructive. Every family should recommended the game to others. Especially the young stamcollector will ricognize where his stamps come from. The game represents 6 different routes, which touch the capitals Antewerp, Athens, Berlin, Brussels, Christiania, Lissabon, London, Madrid, New York, Paris, Petersburg, Rom, Stockholm. Any number of person can play. Each route has 100 stages and leads back to the starting place, representing a round journey. At places where the lines cross the direction of the arrow is determinative for the players. The small maps of the polar districts are only for illustration.
Rules of the Game
The players may start by different routes:
1) All start in one direction from one of the aforenamed cities.
2) All start in opposite directions from one of the aforenamed cities.
3) Them players start from different capitals.
4) As every route has 100 stages and also as many points of danger, the journey can be started from any stage, and also in any direction. If the player wishes to win, he must return to the place of starting. As already stated the player wins the game who arrives first at the starting point. Play is carried on with one or two dice. If few persons play only one dice is used in order to prolong the game. In case of a lot of person playing, it is advisable to use two dice in order to shorten the game. Each player moves his figure or littlem flag as many points forwards as his throw of the dice shows. If during the journey two or more players meet at a stage, all the players must, in order to sufficiently celebrate their meeting, stop diceing until the last arrival has missed twice. Pass lost, must return to the home officials and in consequence commence again at the beginning. Money lost, retires from the game until he receives fresh money from the post viz. until he throws an ambsace 1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 4:4, 5:5 or 6:6. If only one dice is used, he must throw either a 1 or a 6. The throw counts. If a specialfacility for travelling be reached (steamer, railwey, aeroplane, auto) the player can immediately travel 10 stages further. Mountain-climbing, must pause once in diceing. If the player is recalled from the journey by telegram, he retires from the game. Losing train-connection, one pause in diceing. Steamer-connection lost, one pause in diceing. If the player receives baptism on the equator, or becomes seasick, he pause twice in diceing. Steanner in distress, pause thrice in diceing. Before putting down the pawn each player has to call out the station or else must, for once, discontinue throwing."

NOTA: Robert Mittelbach (* 11- Mai -1855; † 21- Februar - 1916 in Radebeul) war ein deutscher Topograf und Verleger kartografischer Werke. Mittelbach war Eigentümer der Graphischen Kunstanstalt "Globus" Dresden-Kötzschenbroda und von der Kartograph. Anstalt R. Mittelbach, beide in Kötzschenbroda in der ehemaligen Körnerstraße 4 (heute Ludwig-Jahn-Straße 4, während die Nr. 2 von Max Mittelbach als Miteigentümer privat bewohnt wurde), sowie von Mittelbach’s Verlag in Leipzig. Die Schreibung Mittelbachs Verlag taucht in den Bibliothekskatalogen auch als Falschschreibung Mittelsbach Verlag auf. Er wurde in einem Familiengrabmal auf dem Friedhof Radebeul-West beerdigt, in dem neben Ehefrau und Töchtern auch seine Schwiegersöhne, die Architekten und Baumeister Edmund Kießling (1875 - 1948) sowie Max Grübler (1887 - 1951), liegen. Sein Sohn Curt Mittelbach folgte ihm als Bearbeiter der Kartenwerke nach.

The Globetrotter: Originally titled “Der Weltreisende Globetrotter”, produced in 1900-15 by Robert Mittelbach, active in Dresden. The game is played on an elaborate and actual map of the world showing the borders of countries in the year the game was published. The traveler is supposed to follow 600 points located on the map connected through various routes. The instructions are both in English and German. Paper glued on board, chromophotolitography.
