London: William Spooner, c.1852. Wood-engraved map with lithographed panels of animals, dissected and laid on linen together as issued, total 545 x 650mm, folded into original cloth covers with lithographed label on front board and letterpress rules on inside pastedown. Front cover a little scuffed. A double-hemisphere map with a panel of illustrations of animals in fine colour above. The players move along lines of longitude and latitude until they pass the names of animals, for which they get a prize or lose a forfeit. It is not listed in Whitehouse's "Table Games of Georgian and Victorian Days". (Altea Gallery) |
